White Castle cheeseburger.
In and Out Double-Double.
White Castle is all over the midwest and even in Manhattan. Watch out for White Castle imitators too (like Crystal's). No one does it as well. You can get frozen White Castles at your local supermarket, but like everything else, fresh is better.
Tommy's is in the Los Angeles area. Beware of Tommy's imitators. Tommies and Tomy's are not the same. The perfect side dish to a Tommy's hamburger is an order of chili-cheese fries or a tamale. (I can feel my arteries hardening just thinking about them.)
In and Out can be found in California. Originally a southern California chain, I've been told that they've now expanded as far north as Silicon Valley and as far east as Phoenix, Arizona.
Sonic Drive-In seems to be a Texas and New Mexico chain.
Maid Rite can be found here and there in the midwest. Two that I know about are in Macomb, Illinois; and Hannibal, Missouri. The Hannibal Maid Rite is actually part of the Mark Twain Diner that's right around the corner from Tom Sawyer's House.
